MBC Group and AMS celebrate the ongoing success of MBC 2’s strategic partnerships

November 17, 2016 – Dubai, UAE:

On the evening of November 16th, MBC Group and AMS (which serves from within Choueiri Group) hosted an exclusive gathering on the rooftop of the Choueiri Group Building, focused on bringing together the strategic partners of MBC2 – The region’s leading free-to-air Western movie channel, for new and exclusive Hollywood productions as well as world cinema.

The gathering was staged to mark the continuation of MBC2’s contracts with some of Hollywood’s biggest international studios, including MGM, Paramount, Marvel, Fox, Eagle and Disney, along with the renewal of the Channel’s agreement with NBCUniversal for the next six years. These agreements confirm that MBC2 will be the only free-to-air platform that continues to show the best, most critically-acclaimed and biggest box-office blockbusters from Hollywood, as well as the world’s best-known classics.

The event welcomed senior directors from MBC Group, including MBC Group TV Director, Ali Jaber, along with the region’s major advertisers and a host of Hollywood executives and producers, including officials from some of the world’s best-known film and television production companies. Also in attendance were the broadcaster’s exclusive media representatives – AMS / Choueiri Group.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Jaber said that “Today MBC2 is celebrating its phenomenal success with its partners, led by our viewers and advertisers, a channel that has seen major growth over the years. Since its launch 13 years ago, MBC2 has shown over 6,000 films to our audience of more than 100 million viewers in the Arab world. Meanwhile, on MBC2’s official Facebook page, 17 million users have ‘Liked’ us – a token of love and trust – while MBC2’s Twitter account features around five million followers.”

Also speaking at the occasion, Choueiri Group’s Chairman and CEO, Pierre Choueiri, reiterated MBC Group’s commitment to making MBC2 an unrivalled advertising platform, while commending the support of regional advertisers who he stated have “Continued to contribute to the success of MBC2 and higher standards for regional television entertainment in general”.
