April 09, 2019
Dubai Corporate Games takes pride in being the largest team building and corporate sports event in Dubai. With the majority of sporting competitions hosted at the annual event’s traditional venue (The American University in Dubai campus), a number of off-campus sporting facilities in and around Dubai were also utilized this year to facilitate the growing itinerary of sports which the Dubai Corporate Games now features.
These included Dragon Boat Racing at Dubai International Marine Club, Cricket at Wellington International School and GEMS World Academy, Badminton at the Sports Hall in Wellington International School, Golf at the Emirates Golf Club, Karting at the Outdoor Kartdrome in Dubai Motor City and Bowling at the Dubai Bowling Center.
The turnout for the year featured top-notch athletes from the corporate community who came together for two fun-filled and action packed days. As always, the multisport tournament went ahead with the aim of promoting team comradery, wellness and a healthier lifestyle.
This year’s games once again raised the bar for participation, with a record-breaking number of participating teams and athletes. Choueiri Group’s own teams and athletes participated across the majority of the competitions, with the Group’s usual and bustling dedicated lounge and hospitality area welcoming friends, family-members, fans and supporters throughout the weekend.
At the end of the two days, a number of Choueiri Group teams and athletes went up on stage to collect winning trophies and medals. Ace tennis player Patrick Chucri placed in yet another #1 position for Men’s Tennis Singles this year, while Ziad Mussa won the #1 spot for both the Men’s Golf 9 Hole competition, as well as the Men’s Gold nearest to the pin tournament. Carl Chalhoub and Jad Abou Mitri respectively collected the #1 and #2 positions for Men’s Karting, while the Group’s female racers managed a clean sweep, with Regina Massad coming in #1, Lama El Dib in #2 and Joelle Yazback in #3 for Ladies Karting. Bachir Tabib once again won the #2 prize for Open Mixed Backgammon.
At the closing awards ceremony, Choueiri Group’s Chairman and CEO Pierre Choueiri stepped up to the stage to award the winning teams and athletes with trophies and medals. The organizers also took the time to celebrate the strength, teamwork, sportsmanship, excitement, and fun experienced over the course of the event and congratulated all the participants and sponsors for another great year.
The Dubai Corporate Games is organized each year by High 5 Events and is held under the patronage of the Dubai Sports Council.
