December 13, 2015 – Dubai, UAE:
The fourth and final round of the Dubai Kartdrome Endurance Championship driven by Mini delivered an action packed 24 hours of racing, befitting of a true season finale.
Marked as a true test of speed, stamina, determination and teamwork, the championship’s final round welcomed a large contingent of contenders.
CG Racing which has remained a constant force to be reckoned with, ever since their clean sweep of all endurance Championship titles in 2014, entered round 4 with 4 teams. They placed in solid efforts across multiple fronts and battled long and hard across the 24 hours period which ran from noon on Friday, December 11 to noon on Saturday, December 12.
On the Pro and Overall category front, CG Racing Pro (David Terrien, Rami Azzam, Piers Pakenham Walsh and Alban Varutti) who won the championship title last year, witnessed many challenges and odds, to manage a third place podium victory for round 4. They came in a mere 9 seconds behind runners up Batelco. The Pro Category title was won by Dubai Falcon Racing this year.
On the Corporate category front, CG Racing 2 (Oliver Saade, Salem Salem, Chadi Kaddouha, Patrick Katrib and Chris Oughourlian) defied the odds and once again placed in a defiant performance to take home the #1 Corporate Championship trophy. Their class victory in the final round brought them to an eighth place overall finish, but decisively ahead of their main corporate rivals Team Emirates. Sister teams CG Racing 1 and CG Racing Academy also placed in promising performances.
Speaking after the podium awards ceremony, CG Racing team boss Pierre Choueiri stated “What a relief! It was too close, where everything that could happen…happened. CG Racing 2 did their job perfectly. They were consistent, their kart was okay. But the win was just beautiful”.
He also assembled his teams and supporters following the podium ceremony to extend a special thank you to CG Racing Team Manger Habib Chouery and his entire support team and pit crew.
CG Racing closed the 2015 season with the #1 and # 3 corporate championship titles, the #2 Pro championship title, as well as the #3 Nations Cup title.
The Team looks forward to returning to the Kartdrome for more thrilling racing action in 2016.
