Wins #1st podium spot at “Fun and Race 2017” in France
CG Racing PRO recently returned to their home base in Dubai, with another major international endurance kart racing victory under their belt: The prestigious “Fun and Race 2017”, held from September 2-3 at the Racing Kart De Cormeilles (RKC) track in Boissy L’Aillerie, France.
As last year’s SWS Endurance Racing World Champions, CG Racing PRO took on the honor of representing the UAE across this prestigious 24-hour competition, which witnessed its 10th anniversary this year.
With some of the best teams from around the globe lined-up on the starting grid, the stage was set for what would turn out to be a very exciting race for both the participating teams, as well as the vast turnout of spectators and fans.
Racing in fine form from the very beginning of the race, CG Racing PRO went up against many top contenders, including DT Racing, Modave Racing and Italian heavy weights Alfa Romeo. The final half-hour of the race was especially noteworthy, with mounting tension and stiff, neck-to-neck competition. By the end of the 24-hour run, CG Racing PRO had overcome a variety of obstacles and managed to come out on top.
Habib Chouery (Team Manager), Gouvieia Joao (Team Strategist) and ace drivers David Terrien (Team Captain), Rami Azzam, Piers Pakenham-Walsh and Alban Varutti, spearheaded the team’s winning efforts.
Celebrating their success, CG Racing’s Team Owner - Pierre Choueiri - spoke about their latest victory and upcoming plans: “It was great to come out to the RKC and represent the UAE, while competing on such a high level. It is a remarkable feeling for us to be able to take back this trophy to Dubai. As a team, we’re really looking forward to entering into the upcoming Endurance Racing Championship back home where we will be pushing hard for the championship title once again this year.”
